What if you needed to help a friend or co-worker who fell into a river, ocean, or through an ice covered lake? People who work or play on the water may often respond to emergencies for which they have no effective equipment or training. They are the first responders.
REDE Rescue Systems LLC recognized a need for intuitively operated water and ice rescue products to increase the lifesaving capabilities of minimally trained and novice rescuers. REDE is an acronym meaning “rapid extraction (from) dangerous environments” and is pronounced as “ready”.
Worldwide, the need to respond to flood disasters and provide effective marine safety will increase as populations living near bodies of water and marine recreation and commercial activities multiply.
Water conducts heat from the body twenty-five times faster than air. Therefore rapid rescue from water is crucial for survival, especially as temperatures drop. Current line rescue methods may have serious issues. They often require extensive training to be effective and it is easy to fumble under the complexity in high stress rescue situations. Many existing methods lack adequate capture range or accuracy to reach a rescue victim. The ease of initiating a second attempt can be slow. Delayed or failed second attempts may be life threatening.
We use our background in design and manufacturing to conceptualize and deliver innovative products for a variety of payload launched applications. And the only way to do this is to seek input from end users to develop the next leap in lifesaving technology.
Comments and inquiries for new or custom applications are always welcome.
